I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
